Brief Meeting Description:

The U.S.-Japan CMSP's 13th International Conference on Emerging Infectious Diseases (EID) in the Pacific Rim will focus on enteric diseases. The CMSP was established in 1965 to foster joint cooperative biomedical research efforts specifically on important public health issues in Asia. As such, this conference is an opportunity to share the latest scientific information and lessons learned regarding enteric diseases, and also to discuss and identify potential areas for collaborative research.

Topics Include: 

• Climate Change and Enteric Disease

• Enteric Disease and Global Trade in Food

• Practical Therapeutics, Vaccines, and Diagnostics

• Enteric Co-Infections and the Intestinal Microbiome

• Pathogenesis and Epidemiology of Enteric Disease

• Biosafety: Protection of Scientists and Health Care Workers in Developing Countries

• Resources through NIAID for the Enteric Disease Research Community
